The Durham is an active microphone booster that can provide any dynamic or passive ribbon microphone with up to approx. 25dB of nice clean gain.
Just a note on the Gain
This value varies for all boosters based on the 48V phantom power. Depending on the manufacturer and how good the 48V is provided, your gain can vary anywhere from 20 to 28 db
