Best Studio Vocal Microphone

Best Studio Vocal Microphone

As a recording engineer, there are many great ways to invest in a rig to improve the quality of your recordings. One of the most important investments is a microphone collection. Here, we will show you some of our favorite vocal microphones for studio recording, each for under $300. These microphones will break new barriers in sound quality without breaking the bank.

Blue Microphones Bluebird - $299 (On sale for $179)

bluebird Ever since I got into recording, the Bluebird was one of my favorite microphones. It has a very crisp top-end to it while also capturing the mids and lows in a way that make them blend together smoothly. It's no wonder the entire industry loves it. This mic is full of punch and goes for only $299. While supplies last, it's on sale for $179; That's $120 instant savings!

Rode Microphones NT1 - $249

nt1 Rode is known for making some of the greatest budget-friendly microphones on the market. Their newest (and best in my opinion) is the NT1. It is full, warm and clear, and sounds good on any vocalist I've used it on. It has recently been compared to many higher-end (and much more expensive) tube microphones. That kind of character can be in your studio for as low as $249. For only $20 more, you can get the shockmount as picture above!

Aston Origin - $249

aston_0003_origin_-_straight_on Aston  made a huge debut this year that has taken the recording world by storm. Not only does the Origin look amazing, but it sounds like it too. Each component was hand selected in a double-blind test by audio engineers, artists and experts in the field. Designed and built in Britain, this microphone's very natural sound  is a great start or addition to any studio. For only $249, it's never been more possible. Lewitt LCT-240 - $199

240 The most innovative company in recent years is Lewitt. They take a fresh approach to their microphones. The LCT-240 is a go-to microphone for many vocalists for its smooth top end response. It captures every nuance very cleanly. This will work great for any vocalist, but especially shines on female voices. This really is one of the best ways to improve a studio for less than $200.
