Warm Audio has just announced it is releasing the WA-2A, the remake of the classic LA-2A, and I couldn't be more excited! The LA-2A was originally designed by a company of the name Teletronix. It is known to be one of the smoothest compressors available. Teletronix manufactured these 3 unit monster compressors to be used in radio stations to level out voices for broadcasts.
The design of the LA-2A comes from engineering genius, Jim Lawrence. He was tasked with creating optical sensors in the Cold War for the Titan Missle Program. Lawrence had a desire for radio broadcasting and utilized the same circuit design for the first optical compressor to ever be made! For ages, and even now, this compressor is being used as one of the staples in the studio business.

Warm Audio has a way of recreating classic gear that meshes vintage and modern tones in a way that only your ears could describe for you. They have stunned us with the WA76, the ToneBeast and the EQP-WA.

Now, in 2016, more than 50 years after the birth of the LA-2A, Warm audio has delivered to the world another beautifully sonic brainchild: the WA-2A! Cinemag transformers, Tung-Sol and Electro-Harmonix tubes and a Kenetek T4B Optical Attenuator.

If you're looking for high quality sound at an affordable price, the only option is Warm Audio. I use my WA76 on almost anything and I can't wait to get the WA-2A into my chain as well.
