Scarlett Interfaces: Never Stop Creating

Celebrating the heart of Scarlett — its people

Scarlett is known as the interface of the people — Scarlett interfaces have found their way into millions of home and professional studios and have enabled musicians, songwriters, and producers to record, mix and play back audio worldwide. Scarlett is easy to use and is backed by Focusrite’s unparalleled customer experience and know-how — it’s a force to be reckoned with.

What really makes Scarlett a success, though, is the people that use it. Focusrite have always believed in enabling musicians to never stop creating – and have seen their community continue to produce world-class recordings, while never failing to surprise and delight with the quality and diversity of the music they produce.

Celebrating Community

Who uses Scarlett, and what do they use it for? The sheer diversity of both the practical uses of the Scarlett range and the people using Scarlett interfaces is incredible. Focusrite really wants to celebrate their users and share their stories with the wider community, so, across the coming weeks, Focusrite will be spotlighting a different artist and share their stories, experiences, and tips with their growing community of creators. You can read their stories here. You can watch their video stories in this playlist that will be updated weekly.

To whet your appetite, read on to learn a little about each artist who will be highlighted.

Spotlight One — Blossoms

Since their musical breakthrough in 2016, when they released their self-titled, chart-topping album, Blossoms have evolved from being hotly tipped upstarts to one of the most beloved and respected acts on the circuit today. Their third studio album, Foolish Loving Spaces, was released in January last year and reached Number One in the UK Album Chart and they have made been nominated for a Brit Award and the Mercury Music Prize.

Spotlight Two — The Pocket Queen

In a world of up-and-coming musicians with social media presence, New Orleans native Taylor Gordon (aka The Pocket Queen) has proven to be a stand-out talent with hard-hitting edgy drumbeats, paired smooth rhythms and a charismatic smile. The Drummer/Producer has produced for — and shared the stage with — some of the biggest names in entertainment including Kehlani, Chris Brown, Beyoncé, and Fifth Harmony. She is now looking to make her mark in the music world using her own name.

Spotlight Three — Steel Banglez

Born to Sikh Punjabi parents, Banglez spent the first half of the 2010s as an underground rap producer and in 2015 set out to conquer the clubs, teaming up with MIST to produce the anthems ‘Karla’s Back’ and ‘Ain’t the Same’. Banglez’ productions include Dave, MoStack, and Nines and he recently released his self-titled debut album, Steel Banglez.

Spotlight Four — Lauren Hibberd

Lauren Hibberd started her career with folk music, opening Bestival’s main stage aged eighteen. Soon, she was able to head into the studio to record her early tracks, and that’s when everything changed. A producer handed her an overdrive pedal and a copy of Weezer’s The Blue Album. “That was me converted,” she says.

Lauren’s forthcoming EP follows on from last year’s Everything Is Dogs and builds upon the distinctive dry wit that the release carved out.

Spotlight Five — The Snuts

The Snuts consist of Jack Cochrane (vocals and guitar), Joe McGillveray (guitar), Callum ‘29’ Wilson (bass) and Jordan Mackay (drums). They formed the band in school, but it wasn’t until 2016 that they started releasing demo recordings whilst playing local support gigs.

In November 2018, they signed to Parlophone Records and released their first single under the label, ‘All Your Friends’, in May 2019. In April 2021, they released their debut album W.L., which became a UK Number One.

Today, as well as having the official walkout song for their hometown club of Reading FC with the track ‘Black Magic’, The Amazons are headlining festivals and selling out tours across the globe.

Spotlight Seven — Chris Buck
