Recently, we began selling Spector and Music Man basses. We have also had a wide variety of used basses. To expand our support for bass players, we now carry Hartke bass amps!
Hartke released the first aluminum speaker coned bass cabinet in the 1980's. Compared to the paper cones in the other cabinets at the time, the aluminum ones provided much more attack. Paper cones create a very natural and warm response which is great for certain styles, but the aluminum really makes a bass stand out and makes it a favorite among the best players around the world.
In 2005, Cream had reunited at Madison Square Garden for the first time in three decades. Jack Bruce, the bass player, had used a pair of Hartke paper cone cabinets and a 410XL aluminum cabinet. Hartke used that as inspiration to take their amps to the next level and deliver the best of both worlds with their HyDrive series.
Pictured above is the HyDrive series HD150. This series of bass combos combines the punch and clarity of aluminum with the the warm, natural response of paper to give any bass player the flexibility for any tone-chasing situations. We have a few of these amps on display in our store so you can try them out yourself and feel the thunder of a legendary combination.
