This year at NAMM, modern synthesizer masters from Arturia are showing off their new innovative and expandable products. These include the MiniBrute 2 and 2S and the brand new RackBrute Eurorack system. In today's article, we're going to show you the highlights of each. Note: We have a lot of these on order, and we will only take as many preorders as we can fill with our first order. So feel safe ordering from us that you'll be getting the first batch available if you wisely choose to pre-order from us.
The MiniBrute 2 is the predecessor to the coveted MiniBrute, the synthesizer that began the revolution of affordable analog synth hardware. We're going to start off with the elephant in the room - That massive patch bay! Rocking 48 points, this patch bay has no limitations. It is easily integrated with the other new Brutes using Arturia's brand new Link System. We'll get more into the link system in a few minutes, but just be aware that Arturia did not put a patent on the Link System so that any manufacturer can utilize it and many synths and keyboards will be able to easily connect to each other and modular synth systems. Being an analog synthesizer, every single small movement of a knob or fader will make a difference in the waveform created. This has a Brutal sound engine (pun intended) that can go from the cleanest sine waves to dirty and grungy, in-your-face sawtooth waves. There are also the Metalizer and Brute Factor knobs to give extra vibe and beef to your sound.
This is the new 6U RackBrute. It has a little brother, the 3U RackBrute. These are the future of Eurorack modular systems. They have a very safe and reliable power source that will have no problems giving all of your modules the juice they need to for you to create. As mentioned above, they are each equipped with the new Link System which allows them to easily attach to the MiniBrute 2 and MiniBrute 2s with ease. What's more is that they can fold into the keyboard or sequencer using the Link System to create a safe, mobile case for your modules without the need to unplug cables. This video shows it off perfectly:
The MiniBrute 2S is the advanced sequencing cousin of the MiniBrute 2. They run the same sound engine, but with vastly different features. The top half of the two synths are the same. Two LFO's, 48-point patch bay, ADSR adjustments, Steiner-Parker Multimode Filter, 2 VCO's, Oscillator Mixer, AD Envelope, Metalizer and Brute Factor. However, the sequencer in this one is much more advanced. The sequencer pads can be played like a keyboard to open the gate on the oscillators. It's main function though, is to create patterns and control velocities and gates. You can have up to 64 patterns in each of the 4 banks, yielding a total of 256 bars of patterns. The large scroll wheel offers fine calibration of things like tempo and pitch of the overall sequence. The small encoders above each pad allow for control of these parameters for that specific step in the sequence. This piece is insane and allows for so much control. These are the new releases from Arturia. Be sure to keep watching for more updates from NAMM 2018! As always, enjoy FAST and FREE shipping on any order in the continental US.
