Focusrite has really raised the bar by releasing a new generation of Scarlett interfaces. The original versions were, and still are a favorite among engineers everywhere. And now, they just got better! The new Scarlett range has a bunch of improvements from better preamps and converters, to more software and sleeker cosmetics. The new preamps and instrument inputs have increased headroom so you can really drive your signal and accurately monitor it. The new converters also have increased headroom and now support sample rates up to 192kHz! As you can see, the new look is very classy and sharp. The Scarlett color on is a bit brighter with a new silver logo instead of black. On the back of the 2i2 and the 2i4, the monitor output is now flush where it was previously protruding outward. The gain knobs are now metal and much more rugged to handle anything thrown at it. Pictured above is the new Scarlett Studio. The included microphone and headphones are now black with red accents. The most exciting part of the new interfaces is the included software and features. With every Scarlett interface comes two DAW's (Ableton Live Lite and Pro Tools|First). It also comes with a HUGE software package, including the Softube 'Time and Tone' bundle, the Red 2 and Red 3 EQ and compressor, and the Focusrite Creative Pack. This includes 12 new plug-ins like the Eleven Rack guitar processor! The new Control Panel (Focusrite Control) is a very user-friendly routing software that even allows for monitoring and tracking with plug-ins in real time! These new interfaces have changed a lot for USB users. It is really astonishing that Focusrite could make these improvements and keep each interface at the same price!
