Latest Arrival - PreSonus Quantum 2

Earlier this year, PreSonus released the fastest audio interface available - Quantum. Now available is its counterpart, Quantum 2, a mobile version of the fastest interface on the market. These Thunderbolt interfaces are equipped with the best Burr Brown converters used by PreSonus to date. Burr-Brown is famous for their incredible conversion quality used in various of high-end gear. This tells us that PreSonus is making a great effort for a high-end piece without that daunting price tag. Just like Quantum, Quantum 2 has two Thunderbolt ports that can be used to daisy chain up to 4 units. The ports can also be used for other Thunderbolt peripherals like an extra monitor. It also has four of the famous PreSonus XMAX preamps, four line outputs, S/PDIF and MIDI I/O, BNC word clocking and a whopping 16 channels of ADAT I/O. PreSonus decided against putting any DSP in this interface to increase the speed of transfer. The Quantum 2, along with all other PreSonus interfaces, ships with Studio One Artist, the next standard DAW in digital recording. Within the program, you can put any native plugin on the input and print that sound to the track, just like using DSP. Typically, DSP within interfaces limits the engineer to just a few plugs. Using Studio One with plugins on the inputs allows for greater flexibility with no hardware DSP to slow your session down. All PreSonus interfaces also include the Studio Magic Plug-in Suite with amazing software from Eventide, Lexicon, maag Audio, SPL, brainworx and Plugin Alliance. Similar to the Studio 192 and Quantum, Quantum 2 has a built-in talkback microphone. This is extremely helpful for people tracking live drums. If you've ever recorded a drummer without using a talkback microphone, you know exactly what I mean. Screaming at them to stop playing is the only way to communicate unless you plugged a microphone into your interface and ate up one of your channels. Drums are the one of the instruments our engineers record the most, so we can really appreciate PreSonus' consideration for keeping the 8 inputs and having a dedicated talkback microphone. PreSonus has announced that from now on, all of their interfaces will be equipped with DC-coupled outputs. These outputs can send control voltages to hardware synthesizers. You can then manipulate responses of the synths like attack and decay time of the waveform. The new Studio 2|6 and Studio 6|8 interfaces have DC-coupled outputs as well. As always, enjoy FAST and FREE shipping on any order in the continental US.
