Best Small Mixer

Mixers come in all shapes and sizes, and all serve a similar purpose. The good news is that every mixer is different to fit various needs for live engineers, studio engineers and even a solo musician. We've put together a small list to help you find out which will work best for your needs and location.

ART MX821S - $185.00

untitled-1_0004_mx821s_front To start off the list, we went with something a bit different. The ART MX821S is an 8-channel mic/line mixer that fits in a standard 19" rack mount. It can supply phantom power individually to each channel for condenser microphones. There is a balanced stereo output to go out to speakers or into an interface. This rack-mountable mixer is an affordable option for summing a mix or making your band sound great live, all while using only one space in your rack.

PreSonus StudioLive AR12 - $499.95

_0012_presonus-studiolive_ar12_usb-top The AR series is PreSonus' latest release. It acts as both a live mixer with XLR output to speakers or a crossover, as well as an 8-channel interface with their award-winning, class A preamps and on-board EQ on every channel. It comes bundled with Studio One Artist software so you can record each channel separately plus the main mix. If recording into a computer is not your forte, the AR series mixers come with a built-in SD recorder to store your mix. Also available are the AR8 and the AR16.

Alesis MultiMix 8 USB FX - $149.00

The MultiMix 8 USB FX is a mixer with 4 microphone inputs and 4 line inputs. This is the perfect solution for traveling acts such as acoustic duos or trios who are looking for a mixer with plenty of inputs, on-board EQ, built in effects and even a 2x2 audio interface to record performances. Rugged, yet portable, this little mixer is ready for the road.

ART USB Mix Project Series - $69.00

art_0047_usbmix-angle I always tell people it has never been cheaper or easier to record. That is especially true for solo podcast producers. ART has created the USB Mix Project series with one microphone preamplifier and a stereo line input for music or other line-level source. This is bus-powered and takes up little space, perfect for the stationary podcast studio, or on the go.

Alto Professional Live 1202 - $279.00

alto-live_0005_live1202_angle_weblg This is the all-in-one live mixer by Alto Professional. loaded with 7 microphone preamps, and additional stereo line input (total of 8), on-board EQ and built-in effects, this mixer is ready for almost anything. It even has on-board compression on the first 4 channels, something that is very rare for modern mixers. In the upper right corner, there is a graphic EQ section in which the engineer can utilize as a feedback suppressor or a main mix EQ. Remember how I said it's the all-in-one? I wasn't kidding. On the back panel, there is even a USB port so you can record the performance. As always, enjoy FAST and FREE shipping on any order in the continental US.
