The brand new Focusrite Clarett 8Pre will be out soon (7/1/15) and a few weeks ago our friends from Focusrite were kind enough to stop by to give us an up-close look. As the first release of the Clarett line, the 8Pre gives you 18 inputs and 20 outputs, 24bit, 192kHz sample rates, and with the latest Thunderbolt technology this interface offers latency of under one millisecond which will allow real-time tracking with plugins!
But what got out attention the most were the 8 Mic Preamps that are modeled after the ISA design. It has all the other features a modern interface should have and even includes the Red 2 and Red 3 Plug-in Suite. Besides all the state-of-the-art internal features, the Clarett 8Pre looks amazing with the classic Focusrite scarlett red metal faceplate.
